Increase Your Wellbeing

Our wellbeing is always important, but it has never been more important right now. We are living through difficult times, and many will struggle to get through the winter months. So it is vital that we do all we can to keep ourselves feeling as good as possible. So with that in mind, here are a few ways to increase your wellbeing.

Good Sleep

Sleep 7 hours (min) every night. Sleep is as important to your health as diet and exercise. It is a chance for your body and brain to recharge every day. do everything you can to make your bedroom a nice place to be and ensure you get as much sleep as possible.

Increase Your Wellbeing – Write Down Thoughts

It may help you to keep a diary, and some thoughts down each day. It can be cathartic and therapeutic to do so.

Keep Moving

Exercise is key. Do as much as you can. We all have different capabilities after all. But it is one of the best things for mental health. You will hopefully feel amazing after getting out of breath. Even a short walk round the block will make a big difference for many.

Eat Well

Have you ever had a takeaway, something really fatty and greasy, and felt quite down afterwards? Sluggish, lacking energy, and devoid of vitality. It is no surprise if so. What you eat greatly affects your mood. So the better quality and healthy food you eat, the better you should feed. Avoiding a lot of sugar should be your starting point, but in addition, eat green things, and avoid processed foods as much as possible.  Make your own food, then you know exactly what is in it.

Don’t Beat Yourself Up

By which i essentially mean set your own achievable goals and be happy if you meet them. Life is not a competition – or at least it shouldn’t be. Happiness does not come from having more money and success than everyone else. That can actually be a curse. Many of the happiest people are those that appear to have the least. Be happy about who you are, and play to your own strengths.

Increase Your Wellbeing – Keep In Touch

Because you are stuck at home, does not mean you cannot talk and see people. You should set aside plenty of time to keep in touch with people. Whether that be a phone call to catch up, a zoom quiz or even a few text messages, you will feel much better for it. Stay connected as much as possible.

Increase Your Wellbeing – Avoid The News?

The news rarely contains good news anyway, but 2020 has certainly been the worst for bad news. So perhaps you do not need to know every day every single bad thing going on in the world. It is good to stay informed and educated, but there has to be limits. Skip the news and watch a comedy programme instead. You will feel better for it. This applies to those you know online too. If their posts and views consistently make you feel worse, then mute or unfriend them. You do not need their negativity in your life. It does you no good.
