Ways To Give Something Back For Free

Most of us enjoy giving gifts as well as receiving. We take joy and satisfaction in helping others and assisting any way we can. For many though, financial struggles can make you feel helpless sometimes. You feel restricted in how you can help others, as often money is involved, as it usually is in most walks of life. But not necessarily so. Moolr took a look at ways to give something back for free. There are loads of things you can do to help others without breaking the bank.

Volunteer Work

Is there an organisation who need some help in your community? Many groups don’t receive a lot of funding and need all the help they can get. Volunteers are vital to keeping many organisations and charities going in the UK and around the world. If you can spare the time, make a difference to people’s lives.

Donations

We all have food we waste, or that we don’t fancy eating anymore. Food that sits in cupboards that you will not miss. So why not donate so that someone who would appreciate them gets food? Food banks sadly have never been more popular in this country. They need a constant supply of food.
But it’s not just food that could make a difference. Anything from books to clothes can be donated to a charity shop, doing more good in your local community.

Cook

If a friend or partner has had a hard day, and needs some TLC, why not offer to make them a meal? They will appreciate it, and it does not have to cost the earth.

Household Chores

A great way to show your partner that you’re thankful for the things they do for you day in and day out is to clean the house. If you do not live alone, do your share of chores and take the load off others. If there are pets in the residence, clean out a cage, feed them, or take the dog for a walk. All these things free up time for others.

Help Someone Get a Job

Often it is not what you know, but who you know. If you can help someone get a foot in the door, then consider doing so. Also, your expertise may be enough to help. This could involve helping with a CV, or advising on what jobs to go for.

Driving

Not only can some people not drive, they may not be in a position to do so when needing to get somewhere. A good example is when needing to get to an airport. Offer them a lift and a pick up, it will be greatly appreciated. No doubt they will be happy to cover petrol costs.

Positive Reviews

Be it a book, or a nice meal, good reviews are greatly appreciated, and help the business of those involved. This is especially true in the restaurant business, a tough business where word of mouth and positive reviews can make all the difference.
