How To Keep Your Oven Clean

Oven cleaning is much cleaner when you make an effort to keep it cleaner in the first place. Here are a few things you can do to prevent mess. By putting a small amount of effort on a regular basis, you avoid the dreaded “big clean”. And you live a healthier life too. We look at how to keep your oven clean.

Everyone Chips In

However many people reside in your home, they must all do their bit. Everyone must clean up after themselves. This way, you won’t end up with layer upon layer of grease that you’ll have to clean up yourself, taking many hours! After every oven use, check back after it has cooled to ensure it is as clean as before you used it. You will be glad you did.

Purchase an oven liner

This is a lifesaver. A non-stick liner that you place at the base of your oven will save you a lot of pain. They are super cheap too.  They can be cut to size, and easily removed and washed down when dirty. Better tan scrubbing the oven itself!

Improvise

If you’ve got a spare roasting tray then put it in the bottom of the oven. This is a handy alternative to the liner. You can put other things down too to catch dirt. It depends on what you have to hand, such as fol or baking paper.

How To Keep Your Oven Clean – Don’t Over-Fill Pots & Pans

If you fill your oven dish right up to the top, then you’re asking for trouble. Try and ensure that the cooking process does not involve unnecessary spillages. As i found out to my cost when making a cottage pie last week!

How To Keep Your Oven Clean – Steam clean the outside of your oven

Steam can get rid of 99.9% of harmful bacteria in the home, so if you’re serious about keeping that oven clean, get a consider a steaming product. Or if you’re felling really plush, buy a self-cleaning oven!

Stick a lid on it

The best way to stop drippage is to cut off the source. Of course this depends on the recipe, as some may require no lid. But it is an option much of the time.
