Cheaper TV Watching Alternatives

As anyone in the UK with a satellite subscription knows, watching television can be very expensive indeed. If you want most of the popular TV services, you can easily spend well over £100 a month just on this one item. It is ridiculous. But there are ways round this. To maintain the choice without breaking the bank. We looked at some cheaper TV watching alternatives.

Cheaper TV Watching Alternatives- Now TV

This is the most common strategy to save money on Sky channels. You have complete control over the elements you sign up for. A monthly entertainment pass will cost £9.99, while a monthly Hayu reality TV pass will cost £3.99. You’ll have to pay an extra £5 per month to obtain full HD and view on many devices at the same time. No matter how many different passes you acquire, you only have to pay once.

Sky One (and its soon-to-be-replaced Sky Max), Sky Atlantic, Sky Crime, and Sky Comedy are among the channels included on the Entertainment Pass. You may also access UKTV channels like Gold, as well as all of their box sets.

Freeview & Similar

Most channels are free to air, which means they aren’t included in your monthly charge if you watch them on Sky or cable – and you may keep viewing them for free.

An external aerial is required for Freeview, and a satellite link is required for Freesat. You may get free access to hundreds of channels, including the most popular ones – BBC, ITV, and Channel 4 – as well as favourites like Dave and The Food Network, as long as you have one of these (and the box/TV to receive the signal). With the right box, you can still record these free channels.

If you just have internet access to TV, the TV Player service allows you to view all of these stations for free.

You may often watch shows that are also available on Netflix and Amazon for free, with the exception of iPlayer and the others. You may also watch the stations live on your phone and download programmes to watch later.

Cheaper TV Watching Alternatives – Share

I have access to Netflix, but do not pay a penny for it. I am not breaking any laws, i just use a friend’s services. For services such as Netflix that allow multiple people to use a single account, there are big savings to make. Join together and share accounts, and thus you can all pay for just one service.

Offers

All streaming services offer free trials, or as i did with Amazon Prime recently, reduced priced offers – i paid 99p for a week. And i got Apple TV free for 6 months as i am a PS% owner. See what offers are out there, and save as much money as possible.
